We met on a dating app, where Filip suggested salsa dancing for our first date during London’s hottest summer (40°C!). Simone thought that sounded like a sweaty disaster, so we settled on a walk up Primrose Hill. Filip arrived from Cambridge, Simone got us lost (a theme in our lives), but somehow we always end up exactly where we’re meant to be. That first day ended with a picnic, chicken rice, and, After all, thanks to a street musician, a salsa dance in the middle of Portobello ROAD Market.

​From there, things grew naturally. No dizzy fireworks, just a calm, steady feeling. Familiar, it turns out, can be exciting. A few dates later, Filip suggested camping. Simone’s only past experience was nine hours of kayaking at Outward Bound Singapore with “toilets” that were more imagination than reality. Still, love is brave. This time, camping came with proper facilities, good weather, and Filip’s sports car. Once again, even in unfamiliar places, together felt safe and cozy.​
